Skilled Migration

What is Global Skills for Provincial Victoria (GSPV)?

GSPV is part of the Victorian Government’s Skilled Migration Program. The RMIF aims to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of communities across regional Victoria through the attraction and retention of skilled migrants.

Who are skilled migrants?

Overseas skilled migrants and business migrants, recently arrived migrants with permanent residency or temporary residents who have permission to work and skills required by Victorian industries and regions.

What do GSPV strategies address?

Each region’s skilled migration strategy addresses common themes. These include strategies to:

  • attract skilled and business migrants;
  • engage business and communities;
  • link migrant support services;
  • strengthen partnerships across government, industry, community; and
  • education and service sectors.

The Goulburn Murray Skilled Migration Strategy

The Goulburn Murray Skilled Migration Program, funded through GSPV, works to assist employers facing difficulties in attracting, recruiting and retaining qualified staff in the region. As one option to address skill shortages in the Goulburn Murray region, the local coordinator can link employers with job vacancies to skilled migrants looking for work, assist with migrant settlement and promote the region as a place to live, work and invest.

The Goulburn Murray Skilled Migration Program can help employers offset the impact of skill shortages in our region. Let your business benefit from the skills and experience of professionals and trades people beginning their new career in Australia.
